Export-ready from Kathmandu. Retail orders ship worldwide; wholesale enquiries answered within one working day.
Kathmandu · since 2015

Nepal makes it. We get it to you.

Tea off the Ilam ridges. Bowls beaten by hand in Patan. Pashmina from a Kathmandu loom, churpi dried in Kavre, cardamom out of Taplejung. We buy it at the source, pack it so it survives the journey, and clear it through the paperwork so it actually arrives.

Prices are in US dollars, ex-Kathmandu. Import duty in your own country is not included.

Worth a closer look

A first-flush lot that will not repeat, a jambati bowl there is only one of, and the cardamom that has just come off the dryers.

How we work

Three things we will not do

An export house earns its margin by removing risk from the buyer, not by adding a layer to the price. These are the lines we hold.

01

We will not mislabel a fibre or a grade

A 70/30 pashmina–silk stole is described as 70/30. A spun bowl is never described as hand-beaten. A blended tea is never sold as a garden-level lot. Where we cannot verify a supplier's claim ourselves, we do not list the product at all.

02

We will not falsify a declaration

Not the value, not the description, not the country of origin — not as a favour and not on request. Under-declaring puts the buyer at risk far more than it puts us at risk, and it would end our export registration.

03

We will not promise a lead time we cannot hold

Handwork takes weeks. Harvests happen when they happen. Everything from Nepal transits India and the border does what the border does. You get the real number, and a call as soon as it moves.

Samples before volume. On any line you intend to reorder, buy a sample first. You pay for the sample and the freight, we credit the sample cost against your first full order, and the approved sample becomes the reference for every claim afterwards.

Who we are

Agni means fire. Exim is the boring half.

Agni Exim was registered in Kathmandu in 2015 to do one thing: take goods that Nepal is genuinely good at making and put them in front of buyers who would otherwise never find them.

That means a lot of driving. Tea is bought on the ridge in Ilam, churpi in the hill dairies of Kavre, bowls at the workshop door in Patan, cardamom off the dryers in Taplejung. The part buyers actually pay us for is everything after that — the grading, the packing that survives six weeks at sea, the phytosanitary certificate, the certificate of origin, and someone who picks up the phone when a container is late.

We are not the largest exporter in Kathmandu and we are not trying to be. We are the one that will tell you the lead time is eight weeks when it is eight weeks.

About the pictures on this site. The imagery here is generated artwork standing in for photography while the real product shots are made. It is not a photograph of the goods you will receive. Ask us for photographs of any specific lot and we will send them the same day.
The journal

How this stuff is actually made — and shipped

Written for buyers rather than for search engines. What the words on a tea label mean, how a bowl gets its note, which certificate your customs will ask for.
